OblivionI recently started playing Oblivion and noticed that it missed alot of things that I would like to have and then I remembered that Oblivion has a strong mod community that has made many great mods. So here is a list of 12 Oblivion mods that do wonders to make the game more fun and exciting.

Natural Enviroments - This mod by Max Tael adds a greater variety to the weather system in Oblivion and also adds birds and insects, seasional changes, and changes to the vegitation of Oblivion. Definatly a must have for any Oblivion adventurer. Download Natural Enviroments

Attack and Hide - This mod by nvdrifter enables you to hide after engaging an enemy. Origionaly in Oblivion enemies had the ability to track you down no matter how hard you tried to run. With this mod enabled you can “attack and hide” a must for anyone that is of the stealth branch of character types.Download Attack and Hide

Advanced Water Modification - A mod by Abdullah that makes the water look much better than the default using new algorithims. Download Advanced Water Modification

Life - This modification by sAgiZm increases the number of NPC’s wondering about. This adds to the realism without having much of an impact on performance. Download Life

Shorter Grass - This mod by Slig does exactly what it says. It makes the grass shorter thus increasing the fps on most machines. Also many perfer the shortened grass to the longer default length. Download Shorter Grass

Call Steed - This mod by mcallon adds a ring into your inventory that allows you to mark certian horses and call them when you are in need of a mount. Download Call Steed

Complete Names - Mod by Flak. Gives names to all of those generic NPC’s roaming about in the world such as guards and beggars. Download Complete Names

Quest Award Leveling - Mod by sean_ix that levels up certian items in the game to match your level so that items collected as a low level character are not useless. Download Quest Award Leveling

DarNified BTMod - Mod by DarN. Makes the inventory and menu system in the game a bit more PC friendly. If you have tried BTMod before this is an alternative that provides even more improvement. Note: BTMod is NOT needed to use this mod. Download DarNified BTMod

Ilumination Within - Mod by slap adds light comming out of windows at night. Adds to the imersion and realism of the game at night. Note: Can have an effect on framerate on lower end machines. Download Ilumination Within

Grass Without Tiling - The grass in Oblivion at a distance has a rather annoying tiling pattern in it. This mod by minimum takes care of the tiling issue. Download Grass Without Tiling

Low Poly Grass - This mod by mmmpld reduces the grass poly count down to 8 from 20. This will greatly increase fps in outdoor areas. An extra 5-10 fps is not uncommon. Download Low Poly Grass
